Gail Force – Whipper Recruitment Spotlight on Gail Whipper

12 Apr 13:00 by Unknown

Originally I was going to write the usual “Meet our Director” article, so, I asked the team at Whipper to describe Gail Whipper to help me get an insight into the force behind Whipper Recruitment.

I got some pretty good stuff from the team, and realised that putting the spotlight on Gail and asking her the usual questions was just not going to be enough…so I didn’t.

This is the Whipper version of “Meet our Director”

Words from the Whipper Team

Gail is a pocket rocket! She is always on the go. Gail has her finger on the pulse and is always in the know. She is warm and inviting and wears her heart on her sleeve. Empathetic…but nobody’s fool. Gail is sharp-witted and dynamic. Gail sees the world in colour, she is optimistic and uplifting.

Constant change and movement are where Gail finds inspiration. She doesn’t like to watch the paint dry. Loves her family and her work and is always looking for the best in everyone and the best path to travel.

Gail Whipper’s Career Path in the Recruitment Industry

Gail’s recruitment career kicked off in Newcastle. Gail Whipper reached a career pinnacle in the recruitment industry whilst in London. It was here that Ms Whipper received the ‘Top Marks Award’ from Alfred Marks Bureau. Alfred marks were the largest recruitment firm in the world at the time.

Gail was named the company’s most successful manager in the UK and gained enormous experience in all areas of contract management, permanent, temporary and executive recruitment.

Whipper in Australia

After heading back to Australia, Gail managed the Alfred Marks Wynyard Office in Sydney for 2 years before returning to Newcastle. Once on home soil, Gail set up in partnership Richardson Whipper Recruitment and continued to build a strong reputation locally in the recruitment industry.

Passion drove Gail to start Gail Whipper Recruitment because of a genuine desire to build a company based on respecting people. Gail strives to be the best agency – not the biggest.

It’s her emphasis on people being treated like people, that makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd. Not your usual questions…

How would you describe your management style?

People are surprised when I say “I hate managing people”! What I am really saying is that you know what you have to do, so go and do it. I don’t want to micro-manage anyone.

If you could have a magic makeover wish what would it be?

Haha, this is easy! Straight hair that doesn’t go frizzy in the rain!

What is your favourite phrase?

The impossible I do at once, miracles take a little longer.

The best piece of advice someone ever gave you?

Dad always said “Be considerate of others” and mum said “Always respect yourself”

MY advice…NEVER underestimate anyone.

What do you look for in a good employee?

Loyalty and honesty. Independence and a bit of Chutzpah! What is your worst fault? Hmmm…. Not telling!

What is your favourite colour?

Pink, Blue and purple all at once. Colour is an important part of my life. It brightens up the day and is a powerful tool that changes moods too! If the world was just black and white it would be extremely dull and lifeless.

If you weren’t in recruitment, what would you want to be?

On a serious note, I couldn’t imagine actually doing anything else – recruitment has been my life for as long as I choose to remember. There is nothing more rewarding than bringing people together. I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s true. If you could interview someone for a job, who would it be? Wow! So many people to choose from. My first answer would probably be William Shatner, or Danny Crane…is that lame? I’ll have a think about this one and get back to you. I know! Richard Hammond from Top Gear.

Gail Whipper’s Final Words of Wisdom

Don’t copy anyone else. Be courageous and write your own life script.
